Let us start by telling you about the centre itself:
The Residential Training Centre is situated in the Scottish Borders and the Centre itself is located in 4 acre of private ground.

There is two enclosed training fields, equipped with jumps, poles and various training exercise equipment.

There are purpose built kennels for dogs, and are monitored 24 hours a day as Eric and his family live on the premises.

There are many rural walks and the village of Crocketford is only a short distance away - during obedience training the dogs are taken on lead to the village as part of the good behavior training.

There is an open exercise field where the dogs can meet and socialize with selected trained dogs as part of the socialization training. Every aspect of training is catered for with equipment to enhance the process.

Meet Eric Roberts

Eric Roberts is the Owner of Callanway and Training coordinator  has spent his life involved in dog training and has been a professional dog trainer for several decades.

Eric breeds and trains his own German Shepherds, he is an extremely experienced and outstanding individual in the business of dog training and the rehabilitation of problem dogs.  

Eric has a kind and gentle manor and his training methods are based on mutual respect between the dog and the trainer - this approach allows Eric to get the best possible outcome from training, as the dog is a willing participant in the exercise.

For many years now Eric is an active Championship Judge, with standing at all levels of competitive dog sports.

During the 1970's he was extensively involved in the re-establishment of the Zambian Police Dog Section.
He was significantly involved in forming an anti-terrorist dog unit in the United Arab Emirates.

More recently since the introduction of Pets Passports, Eric Roberts has qualified with his dogs to represent Great Britain at the World championships on 3 occasions.

He has qualified to represent GB at the Championships in Holland in September 2005.
 

He was team captain for Britain at the World Championships in 2007.

Against this background it is clear that Eric, who breeds and trains his own German Shepherds, is an extremely experienced and outstanding individual in the business of dog training and the rehabilitation of problem dogs.
